Metal brake for shop press.

I made this tool for bending up to 1/4 plate. You can purchase the pre made kit that you weld together, but I did this for about $40 total price. here is a list of what is needed. (Price does not include the press.)

1: 20 ton shop "H" frame press from harbor freight or similar.
2: 3/4 bottom plate.
3: 1/2 top plate.
4: 1/4 1x1 angle.
5: 1/4 .5x.5 angle.
6: 2 small pieces of round stock, and 2 pieces of small tube.
7: tube holder to accept the ram from the press.
8: $.98 can of spray paint

Just cut up all the pieces to fit into the press and weld them together. All of the piece I bought out of the scrap bin of drops at my local metal supply, except the tube holder I bought at Lowes for around $5. It took only about 2 hrs start to finish, but the end results are great. bends plate like a dream without having to heat it up in a vice with a torch and bend it with a hammer.

Getting a good deal is no reason to accept sub-par work, since making it right costs more later.
